My name is Eisha. I'm a Sophomore at the University of Georgia, and I'm studying Marketing and UX.
But before you learn anything else about me- visit my first project! Project One
My first project, AKA my Autumn Directory, truly set all the web development skills I have accumulated so far in stone. I had so much fun creating this online world, and it started with the content ideation aspect. I knew I had to build off of something that I am passionate about, and I thought that with the seasons changing as we speak, it may be fun to tap into my love for the colder months. The html portion was pretty simple and clean-cut. I set down my boilerplate and, knowing all the text elements and selectors like the back of my hand (thank you FreeCodeCamp), it didn't take too long to finish each page off with some substantial text. Being an avid writer, I pride myself in being able to swiftly yet thoughtfully write engaging pieces, no matter the amount. The styling, on the other hand, came as more of a trial-and-error success. Mostly error. The detail of formatting, largely the margins and spacing, was frustrating to say the least. But I knew exactly how I wanted my website to look, and with aesthetics, I never stop until it's the spitting image of what I have in mind. Although I spent lots of time returning to my css and adding or subtracting pixels, changing font colors so many times that I lost count, and spending hours scrolling Google Fonts for compatible fonts (more difficult than it seems), I really enjoyed getting closer and closer each time. As far as the content itself, I hope you can use this website as a guide to taking things easy this semester. Things get hectic during the "ber" months, but there's also a sense of tranquility in the special activities offered this time of year that can help balance out your stress hormones. Overall, Project One was a great gateway into the opportunities that logistics and creative strategy in web development can offer. I feel proud that I was able to use my skills to make a website that looks just as I envisioned, with my favorite kinds of colors, fonts, and text by hand. I hope you love it, too!
